“While attending the Department of Ceramics, Kyoto City University of Arts, he received Kaoru pottery from Kenkichi Tomimoto, Yuzo Kondo, Yoshimichi Fujimoto, who are living national treasures representing modern ceramics.
After graduating, he studied under Professor Rokuhei Shimizu, the 6th generation, and pioneered the transition from wood-fired kilns to electric kilns in Kyoto, boldly utilizing new chemical glazes such as titanium, magnesium, and cobalt.
Kenji Suzuki, a potter who developed a beautiful Murasaki glaze from his own study and created a new and excellent Kyo ware that can be said to be the elegant Heisei Rinpa school.
