After graduating from the Design Department of the Tokyo Fine Arts School, he studied under Hajime Kato.
Later, he learned the technique of colored porcelain while serving as an assistant to Mr. Kenkichi Tomimoto. Established a unique technique for coloring, "Glazed Kasai," and in 1986, it was certified as a Living National Treasure by "Colored Porcelain." Yoshimichi Fujimoto, a representative artist of Japanese colored porcelain, has also contributed to the development of younger generations, such as serving as the president of Tokyo University of the Arts.
