Michio Koinuma was born in 1936 in Tokyo.
When he was in elementary school, he was influenced by his homeroom teacher who specialized in archeology, and had experience helping to excavate archaeological sites, and it is said that this experience had a great influence on developing an aesthetic sense.
He studied at two universities, Osaka University and Waseda University, in the Faculty of Economics, but his experience of excavating archaeological sites became unforgettable, and his desire to become a potter became stronger. I did.
He built a silent kiln in Mashiko, Tochigi prefecture, devoted himself to his pottery making, and won the highest award at the Kita-Kantou Art Exhibition. After that, he was active mainly in exhibitions and solo exhibitions.
