During his lifetime, he was awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon, designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property, and after his death received the Oribe Special Prize, among others. He has made great achievements by reproducing Persian ceramics such as lusterware, sansai, and blue glaze through his unique study, and has been awarded the MOA Grand Prize, which can be said to be the highest honor in the ceramic art world, and has been designated as an important intangible cultural property holder (living national treasure). Designated.

Sansai is the most representative of Takuo Kato's works and has been recognized as an Important Intangible Cultural Property. It is a very wonderful gem that accentuates the outstanding beauty of the bright colors of Sansai.
