Tatsusuke Kuriki (November 20, 1943 - October 12, 2013)
Born in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. He graduated from Kyoto City University of Arts. After graduating from university, he continued to make pottery in Seto, but in 1983 he became a full-time lecturer in the art department of Kyoto City University of Arts and moved to Kyoto.
He became an assistant professor in 1986 and professor in 1993. He retired in 2007. He won the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition Grand Prize three times. He was called "a genius of modern ceramic art".
Tatsusuke Kuriki, who focused on the "bulge", "hollow", "tilt", "bend" of his body and fully demonstrated his outstanding molding power.
This work is also shaped like a three-dimensional downward arrow.
The bottom is not flat, but has a bulge, making it a work that shows the sensibility of Tatsusuke Kuriki.
