As a teacher at the National Ceramics Research Institute under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, he was engaged in basic research on iron glazes (Tenmoku glazes) and base materials, and devoted himself to researching Tenmoku glazes at Gojozaka in Kyoto. After establishing his unique technique, he served as an audit committee member of the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition and as a director of the Japan Crafts Association, and continues to create excellent works by the extremely popular artist Morikazu Kimura, who still has many fans.
