1949 She was born in Kyoto as the granddaughter of the first Somika Uno. She studied under Soka I.
In 1974, on the recommendation of the Kyoto Traditional Ceramics Association, she assumed the name of her second generation, Souka.
In 1993, she pursued the beauty of the glazes of the Lang Yanji (Qing Dynasty, China) kiln. She has developed a copper red glaze Ranyo kiln series.
